About the Role
The Senior Cake Chef - Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive training and mentorship to junior cake chefs, ensuring they develop the skills and knowledge required to excel in cake design and decoration. This role combines advanced cake-making expertise with instructional capabilities to foster the growth of emerging talent in the pastry team.
Key Responsibilities:
Training and Mentorship:
• Develop and implement training programs for junior cake chefs, covering techniques in cake design, decoration, and production.
• Conduct hands-on training sessions, demonstrations, and workshops to teach fundamental and advanced cake decorating skills.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to junior chefs, helping them refine their techniques and improve their performance.
Skill Development:
• Evaluate the skill levels and progress of junior cake chefs and tailor training to address individual needs and areas for improvement.
• Introduce new techniques and trends in cake decorating to keep the team current with industry standards.
• Create and maintain training materials, including manuals, instructional guides, and video tutorials.
Quality Assurance:
• Monitor the quality of cakes produced by junior cake chefs to ensure they meet the company's standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
• Offer practical advice and solutions to help junior chefs troubleshoot and resolve issues with cake production.
Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with the senior pastry team to align training goals with the overall objectives of the cake department.

Operational Support:
• Assist with the daily operations of the cake department as needed, including cake production and decoration.
• Help manage inventory and ensure all training aligns with cost control and inventory management practices.
